alteration to product already outthere

following a recent burglary i was looking for a security product to make my home more secure and could not find one for the job i wanted, the product has been around for years but needs a alteration to it to fit the needs of of my property i feel there is a little maket for the alteration to the product, (still does job it was meant to but needs the alteration to fit different situation) WHAT SHOULD I DO?
