How to get a TM Examiner position at USPTO
Posted by Anonymous . updated on 2/26/2009
I'm a 3L with a strong interest in becoming a trademark examining attorney at the USPTO. I have focused my course study around intellectual property law and am currently doing research for my trademark professor. I am at a mid-30s ranked law school and am in the middle of my class, so I haven't garnered much attention from firms at OCI, however I really would love to work at the PTO and think it would be an ideal opportunity. I applied for a summer internship there and wasn't selected, however, I still would love to pursue the opportunity. Does anyone know the best path to do so? I'm assuming the competition to work as a TM examiner is pretty intense, so I could use all the advice or guidance I can get on how to best put myself in a position to make this dream a reality. Thanks for your comments in advance. Reply in the forum or to TMexaminer@aol.com.
