Licence protection before the fact
Posted by Anonymous . updated on 2/26/2009
I am too much a newbie here to even be sure I am in the right forum, but I hope somebody can tell me something. Lets say I write a screenplay which creates some very marketable action figures--not just barbies, but actual character/toys....like I invented Transformers, let's say. So now I have to sell the script, which means showing it to people. But I also want a piece of the toy action, so I might be talking to Mattel or somebody. Obviously they read the script and they have knowlege of the new toy sensation. So, how do I protect myself on something like this?
