Patent Agent Malpractice Insurance

A fellow student and I are still in law school, are both patent agents, and are considering prosecuting patents on the side. Although it appears malpractice insurance is not required, we were wondering where to find information about insurance companies that provide patent agent protection, and a ballpark figure of what they cost. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

One way for agents to obtain malpractice insurance is through the National Association of Patent Practitioners (NAPP). Patent agents and attorneys can join. See www.napp.org.
