Patent issue

I designed a software system for a company , the IP & copywrite was understood belong to me, there were no contracts other than a PO. - several years later I find the company is trying to patent my idea /IP , what are my options?

Contacting good IP attorney is definitely recommended if you feel that the company is using your software in any unauthorized manner (copying, using or trying to patent). Please note that copyright protection is different from patent, and is generally directed to the particular code, sequence of instructions, and possibly structure and organization. So, you need to bring to the attorney everything you think that company is doing with your software without your authorization.

Assemble all of the communications and documents relating to the project and bring them to a lawyer for advice. Not sure from your inquiry where the parties are located (if the company is in NH and the project occured in NH, you likely have to bring the action up here). Best wishes, LDWG
