Trademark taken? Abanonded?
Posted by Anonymous . updated on 2/26/2009
Hello-
I am interested in self-publishing a comic book called "Andy." Its about a kid in high school and his wacky friends.
I was performing a trademark search online and I found out Fox had a cartoon series: 'What's with Andy?" That has been trademarked but is abandoned.
I also found a chinese tea named Andy has been trademarked and is now abandoned.
Then I found something named Andy that is and I quote: "publications, namely, booklets featuring numerology and statistical analysis of lotteries or other games of chance." This is still live.
Then I found a Andy trademark for a motorcycle dealership. This is live as well.
So can I still Trademark this title? Can I even use this title? I was looking at trademark services and it seems really expensive to get this kind of service. Should I change the name?
