Use of Celebrity names

We would like to use recipes that we found on the internet. These recipes are supposedly from celebrities. (ie AJ Foyt Chili, Bob Hope's lemon Pie) can we use these references on our menu?

In short, you shouldn't be. That could be a breach of copyright very easily.

Recipes receive very little copyright protection. Many times, even copied verbatim, there's no infringement. That said, it's certainly safer to put the recipe instructions in your own words.

If I am not mistaken, he was referring to using AJ Foyt Chili in his menu, and not just the chili recipe, and that reference would probably be protected.

Referring to the celebrities by name can be problematic depending on how it's done. If, for instance, the menu said something like, "this chili is as good as AJ Foyt's chili", he should be ok.
