weave cap design do i need a patent

I am designing a different style of weave cave for braided hair extentions. I wanted to know do i have to get a patten or trademark for my designed weave cap so no one can copy my product

If your design fulfills the criteria of patentability under the patent laws of your country then I suggest you look into the prospects of applying for patent protection. However on a general note as weave caps have been around for sometime and unless your invention or design is particularly novel, this may be doubtful. If you are launching a business with this at your core and this is to be your product for some time I highly recommend moving for trademark protection for the name, slogan or logo of your cap.
