What do i do?

Hello my name is Darrell. My dad patented an idea for an improvement on a ladder back in the late 90s, There is still nothing like it on the market and if it was it would make millions, because I work in home improvement and everyone I tell about it say they would buy it in a heartbeat. Recently my dad gave me permission to take on the project because he ran out of money to keep pushing the idea until it reached infomercials, or stores. I want to sell the complete idea to a company or someone that can back it enough financially to get it out there and put money back in my dads pocket. I have all the info on the product and a detailed portfolio. What can I do to get this done as soon as possible? Please Help!

It would be best if you could do a prior art search check out if there are any existing products on the market that you may be unaware of in any part of the world, you can do a prior art search using basic tips here http://www.patentexpress.com/prior-invention-search-video/how-to-do-a-prior-art-search_106_8.html
