Why didn't I get wet on Disney World's Splash Mountain?

5 years ago, when I went to Disney World, I rode Splash Mountain. It was fun. But why didn't I get soaked? I only got wet! I was sitting on the right side in the front row of the log, and all the websites says that if you sit there, you WILL get soaked. I did get wet, but I was NOT soaked.
