How do you acquire joint ownership of a patent? Video Transcript

In this section, I am going to talk about how inventors acquire or owners acquire joint ownership. They can acquire joint ownership through an agreement like an assignment from one party to the other, that one inventor assigns it to company A, second inventor assigns it to company B, they both are joint owners of the patent. It can also be acquired through a will. If I am the owner of a particular patent, I can assign it through my will to my heirs when I die and they will be potentially new owners of that patent. It can also be joint owners when the assignment is made to a partnership and when the partnership includes each partner, that partnership is going to be a joint owner of the patent.
